Please accept our warmest thanks for your participation in the Grey Robes BETWEEN WORLDS event in London. On behalf of Dark Renaissance Productions, Mikrokosmos, and the Grey Robes, allow me to extend our deepest appreciation.
There were more people I had hoped to engage—folks who came from significant distances to London to participate. Of course, I was pulled into pre- and post-event duties that prevented me from going deeper with some of you as I’d hoped. A few, in particular, can expect personal contact from me once I settle back at home after a wedding excursion in Luxembourg. And of course, feel free to reach out.
I also want to thank both our partners and participants who pitched in to to help make the event a success. In just 2.5 months, we pulled together an inaugural experiment that mixed talks, performances, and group meditation. We acknowledge the glitches, imperfections, and technical issues and want to extend our appreciation for your patience and, well, assistance! All of you behaved as a community should and helped make BETWEEN WORLDS a success, imperfections notwithstanding.
I remember, at one point, a gentleman asked whether the Grey Robes had aspirations to be a sect. I had not yet had the opportunity to turn that particular term over in my mind, but by way of follow-up, I’d say that to the extent that we can co-create an ethical sect together, the answer is emphatically, yes. Indeed, to the degree that we can incorporate the means of making meaning and solidarity together—both ancient and modern—we will do so. But we are nascent. We are formative. And we are still groping about in an uncertain future.
And that is why we are keen for you to stay involved.
Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us push boundaries, consider ideas, and make this zany experiment a success.
Warmly,
Max Borders
Huge thanks and beams of appreciation to all of the organisers 🙌
